The National Border Patrol Council attacked Customs and Border Protection’s new pursuit policy (CBP), Tuesday. It argued that it encourages human traffickers to drive recklessly and handcuffs Border Patrol agents charged with stopping them. 

“It basically absolves smugglers all responsibility for the horrible things they do while on the road, and instead places it squarely upon the shoulders of those who are responsible. [law enforcement officers] Your job is to defend America,” says the union.
